The Board of Tax Assessors, appointed for fixed terms by
the Commissioners, is responsible for determining taxability,
value and equalization of all assessments in the County.
The Board also notifies taxpayers when changes are made to
the value of property, receives and reviews all appeals filed,
ensures that the appeal process proceeds properly, and approves/denies
all exemptions (homestead, non-taxability, special use) claimed
by the taxpayer.
