Animal Control

The Animal Control Department enforces the county’s animal control ordinance on a county-wide basis including all the cities. This department responds to complaints regarding stray and nuisance animals, animal cruelty cases, animal bites, and rabies exposure in conjunction with the local Health Department. The department operates a 20-unit dog and 28-unit cat animal shelter and conducts an adoption program, trap loan program, and coordinates activities with the local Humane Society.
