The Judge of the Probate Court is elected by the voters for four-year terms. The Probate Court probates wills, administers estates, and appoints guardians for minors and incapacitated adults. The Probate Court also hears misdemeanor traffic cases that occur in the unincorporated area of the county, issues marriage licenses, weapon carry licenses, residency verifications, and firework permits.
