Parks and Recreation

The Parks and Recreation Department provides recreational programming for the entire county including the cities. This department manages the Community Center, five parks, the 13.5 mile Man O’ War Trail, and the four mile Hamilton Walking Trail. The department also offers numerous organized youth recreational programs through community associations.

29-acre park consisting of seven ballfields of which five are lighted, concession stand, ½ mile paved looped walking trail, restrooms, pavilion, and paved parking.

Pate Park

Soccer Complex

34-acre park consisting of many soccer fields, two concession stands with restrooms, a pavilion with restrooms, 9/10 of a mile paved walking trail, and gravel parking.

Ellerslie Park

This new 120-acre county park with a 12.5-acre lake will consist of nature trails, playground, two pavilions with restrooms, grassed play area, paved road and parking, and a lodge for day use rental.
