The Board of County Commissioners approved resurfacing three county roads totaling 7.2 miles during their February 1, 2022 commission meeting. Those three roads are:
- Trammell Mill Road from SR 85 to Kings Gap Road, 4.0 miles.
- Copeland Road from SR 116 to the dead-end, 1.0 miles
- Calhoun Road from Hudson Mill Road to Lower Blue Springs Road, 2.2 miles
Robinson Paving of Columbus, Georgia was the lowest bidder at $972,133.50. Funding for these road resurfacing projects were budgeted and will come from the county’s annual Local Maintenance & Improvement Grant (LMIG) allocation from the state of $811,925.40 (83.5%) and the needed balance of $160,208.10 (16.5%) will come from local TSPLOST funds.
Resurfacing of these three county roads is scheduled to begin during April and be completed by June 30, 2022. For more information about these road projects, contact the Public Works Dept. at 706-628-5850.
