Mr. Willie D. Rutledge, a founding member and former Fire Chief of the dissolved Flat Shoals Volunteer Fire Department (FSVFD), donated $10,751.94 to Harris County during the December 6, 2022 Commission meeting.
The donated proceeds, which originated from a dormant bank account held by the FSVFD, will be used to help fund the construction of a new EMS/VFD facility currently being built within the Northwest Harris Business Park, near West Point, Georgia.
When the new EMS/VFD facility becomes operational during mid-2023, it will house a 24/7 EMS station and a volunteer fire station operated by the Northwest Harris VFD.
Harris County government thanks Mr. Rutledge for facilitating this generous donation.
