The Board of Commissioners, during their February 18, 2020 regular meeting, approved C.W. Matthews, the low bidder at $1,004,471.99, to resurface three county roads totaling 6.2 miles:
- Hart Road from SR 315 to the dead-end, 1.5 miles ($396,984.65).
- Watkins Road from Hart Road to the dead-end, 0.3 miles ($31,370.77).
- Hamilton Pleasant Grove Road from Hamilton city limits to 300 feet past Nathan Thompson Road, 4.4 miles ($576,116.58).
Funding for this project was included in the approved FY 2019-20 budget and $838,498.57 (83.5%) will come from the state’s LMIG resurfacing grant program and $165,973.42 (16.5%) will come from SPLOST-2014. These road projects should begin during early May and be completed by late June 2020.
