Phases II and III of the Man O’ War Railroad Recreation Trail are now opened. The paved portion of the Man O’ War Railroad Recreation Trail now continues from the intersection of US 27 and SR 354 to behind the Mountain Creek Inn, a distance of about two miles. Phases II and III had a construction cost of about $440,000 and were funded by a $100,000 Land and Water Conservation Fund grant, a $200,000 Recreational Trails Program grant, and county SPLOST-2019 and TSPLOST funds. When combined with the one mile in Phase I from downtown Pine Mountain to the intersection of US 27 and SR 354, the total mileage of the ten-foot wide paved pedestrian trail is three miles. Future additions to the paved trail will be dependent on receiving grant funds.
