Harris County Prison serves to meet the work force needs of the county and neighboring cities while fulfilling the obligations to the Georgia Department of Corrections by providing safe and secure housing for inmates. The facility houses 160 state inmates providing an inmate labor force to various county departments on a daily basis.

Harris County Prison has zero tolerance toward sexual misconduct, sexual harassment and sexual activity involving inmates. In accordance with the Prison Rape Elimination Act of 2003 (PREA) the facility will maintain a safe environment through identification, prevention and intervention procedures while providing a safe and secure prison.

Reported allegations of sexual abuse or harassment can be reported to a correctional staff member, non-security employee, volunteer or contractor. All reports will remain confidential and appropriately investigated. Harris County Prison will not tolerate any retaliation toward anyone who makes a PREA allegation.
