New County Prison Warden

Harris County welcomes the new county prison Warden, Cynthia Nelson. Ms. Nelson began work at the county prison on Jan. 17, 2017. She has a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice and a Masters of Public Administration both from Columbus State University. She has vast experience at the Georgia Department of Corrections (GDOC) serving as Warden at Central State Prison and Autry State Prison, Superintendent at Augusta Diversion Center and Larmore Probation Detention Center, Deputy Warden at Phillips State Prison, and until recently GDOC’s Regional Director for the Southwest Region. Ms. Nelson will be a great addition to the Harris County team.
