Harris County is accepting bids for improvements to Hardage Road for a distance of 0.61 miles.
Bid Documents, Plans, Specifications and Bid Form, may be examined at the office of the Harris County Commissioners located at 104 North College Street, Hamilton, and may be obtained by contacting EMC Engineering Services, Inc., located at 3575 Macon Road, Suite 15, Columbus, GA 31907, (706) 565-5985, upon payment of $150.00 per set. Project is to be completed by October 30, 2017, and must conform to DOT specs.
Bid envelopes must be sealed, contain one (1) original and one (1) copy of all bid documents; must be accompanied by a bid bond, cashier’s or certified check, or cash, in an amount equal to five (5) percent of the total bid; must bear the notation “BID ENCLOSED: HARDAGE ROAD”; must be addressed to the attention of County Clerk; and must be received at the office of the Harris County Board of Commissioners, 104 North College Street, Post Office Box 365, Hamilton, Georgia 31811-0365, by 2:00 PM, Thursday, June 22, 2017, at which time they will be publicly opened and read aloud. It is the responsibility of the bidder to ensure that their bid arrives at the proper location by the time indicated. Telegram, facsimile, e-mail, telephone or late bids will not be accepted or considered.
The project will include the realignment of the road, construction of a new roadbed and roadside ditches, paving and waterline replacement/extension. Contractor will be responsible for demolition of all existing drainage structures, installation of all erosion control measures, proposed drainage structures and construction of finished roadbed in accordance with design plans prepared by EMC Engineering Services, Inc. Waterline installation shall comply with Harris County requirements/regulations.
A mandatory pre-bid conference will be held at 2:00 PM, Thursday, June 1, 2017, in the Conference Room of the Commissioners’ Office, 104 North College Street, Hamilton, GA. Requests for information can be sent via fax to 706-565-5983 or via email at columbus@emc-eng.com no later than 5:00 PM on Friday, June 9, 2017. Requests received after the designated time will not be considered.
Harris County reserves the right to waive any requirement and/or specification included herein, to reject any or all bids, waive technicalities, informalities, or any irregularities therein, and accept any bid presented that in its judgment best serves the interest of the County. Bids must be valid for 90 consecutive days from date of bid opening. Once opened, bids become the property of the County and will not be returned to the bidders. Bids from noncertified bidders will not be considered.
