Harris County government has purchased two replacement garbage trucks and they have been delivered. The new trucks will be placed into service during the week of April 16, 2018. The two new 2018 Peterbuilt rear loading garbage trucks will replace a 1995 Isuzu and a 2001 Freightliner. The two old trucks will be disposed of through an online auction. The new garbage trucks cost $180,000 each and were paid from Solid Waste fees. The trucks will be an asset to the Solid Waste fleet to keep the fleet modern and efficient.
