County to Construct New EMS/VFD Facility

The Board of Commissioners approved Headley Construction Company from Newnan, Georgia to construct a new EMS/VFD facility in the Northwest Harris Business Park on SR 103 and Progress Blvd. near the city of West Point. This new facility will house an EMS ambulance and crew on a 24/7 hour basis and a fire truck from the Northwest Harris Volunteer Fire Department. Headley Construction was the low bidder from a field of seven bidders with their bid of $3,360,000. Funds for this project were budgeted and will come from the General Fund and federal American Rescue Plan (ARP) funds. Construction should start during late September and be completed during June 2023.
