The new county library is under construction on SR 116 adjacent to the county’s community center in Hamilton. The new 15,000 square foot library will be three times as large as the current library on N. College Street. The new state-of-the-art library will contain many amenities including children areas, teen rooms, adult area, computer lab, maker space, three conference rooms, business center, a 45-50 seat meeting space, staff offices, plenty of comfortable seating, internet, and an outside patio. The $5.1M library construction is being funded by SPLOST-2009, SPLOST-2014, state funds, and generous public donations. The new library is scheduled to be opened during early 2018.
