Harris County Welcomes New Chief Financial Officer
Harris County government welcomes new Chief Financial Officer, Elizabeth Barfield. Ms. Barfield has extensive education and experience in public and private finance. She graduated from Columbus State University with a Bachelor of Accounting and Finance degree and is a Certified Public Accountant. Ms. Barfield has worked in the private sector as an accounting manager and senior auditor as well in the public sector as a forensic auditor.
Ms. Barfield will be responsible for the financial operations of the county including assisting with preparing the annual budget, completing the annual audit, supervising accounts receivable and payable and purchasing. Ms. Barfield will be a great asset to the Harris County management team.
