Harris County is accepting bids for the mulching of a 35 +/- acre tract located on Progress Parkway in Northwest Harris Business Park located in West Point, GA. The subject property is currently covered in pine trees and a few hardwoods. Project consists of providing all labor, tools, materials, equipment (to include porta-potties), etc., to cut and mulch all trees (standing and down-fallen), heavy vegetation and undergrowth and spread resulting debris to achieve smooth consistent mulched ground cover to a depth of 3 to 4 inches on-site, with no protruding stumps, stalks or heavy limbs in order to allow a passenger vehicle to drive over the site without puncturing tires. This is mulching project, not clearing and grubbing, therefore, stumps of any trees must be left in the ground at grade level. Mandatory pre-bid meeting will be held on-site at 2:00 PM, Thursday, June 27, 2019. Bid documents can be obtained by contacting Nancy McMichael, County Clerk, at nmcmichael@harriscountyga.gov with subject line “mulching”. Bids shall be submitted by 2:00 PM on Tuesday, July 9, 2019, at which time they will publicly opened and read aloud. It is the responsibility of the bidder to ensure that their bid arrives at the proper location by the time indicated. Facsimile, e-mail, telephone or late bids will not be accepted or considered. Bids must be accompanied by a bid guarantee in the form of a bid bond, cashier’s or certified check, or cash, in an amount equal to five (5) percent of the total bid. Project shall be completed within sixty (60) days of issuance of NTP. Harris County reserves the right to reject any or all bids. Non-compliance with instructions may serve as cause for rejection of bid.
