The Harris County Board of Commissioners, during their February 22, 2024 quarterly planning session, heard a presentation from Carter & Sloope, regarding the long-awaited water and wastewater master plan. As the county’s long-term water and wastewater engineering consultants, Carter and Sloope delved into the intricate operations of the county’s water and wastewater systems. The master plan covered many areas including water sources, existing water distribution system, historical water demands, operating costs, areas of concern, future population demand for water, recommended improvements, and an overview of the county’s small wastewater system.
